"We were lucky to have shared an evening with Barbara and John. They were so nice and easy going, that it felt we had known them for ages. The (male) cats were totally at ease with them, our little Penny is pretty shy, but she came around in the end. 

They sent us a couple of photos on whatsapp showing the relaxed cats, and one great photo of shy Penny being petted by John. We could see how much they loved animals and we went on holiday knowing that the cats would be happy and well cared for. 

The house was in better shape when we came back than before we left! It was really clean and tidy, and John managed to fix our fridge door! They are truly nice people, well organised and down to earth. It was a pleasure to have met them, and they are welcome to come visit and stay at any time. You could not ask for better house / pet sitters. I highly recommend anyone to pick them as their house-sitter."

"Barbara and John were amazing pet sitters! They are the kindest, most thoughtful pet sitters I’ve ever had stay at my place! They sent the perfect amount of text/picture updates! They took special care of my three cats and bunny. I think my bunny is more outgoing and comfortable in my apartment because of his positive interactions with John. I couldn’t be happier and would welcome them back anytime. They left the apartment immaculate and my pets seemed just peachy when I got home, like I hadn’t even been away. "Barb and John were fantastic house sitters. They arrived at our home with huge smiles and instantly bonded with our 2 little dogs. It was instantly apparent they were true animal lovers. 
They sent us lovely regular updates of the dogs and cat throughout their stay through Whats app including photos which was so reassuring. On our return we were lucky enough to briefly spend time with Barb and John before their next sit. They are a wonderful couple. Kind, considerate and very caring. If we get to the States at any point in the future we will be sure to visit them and would LOVE them to house sit for us again or just stay anytime. The dogs missed them after they left. "Barbara and John simply did the extraordinary, as during our sit they had to evacuate due to a small nearby fire! They followed our instructions perfectly, got the cats in the car and drove them to safety, and returned when it was over, communicating all the while. Needless to say we are extremely happy with how they handled everything about this sit, including taking great care of the pets and house, and handling an emergency with such poise. Based on our experience you can count on Barbara and John for anything, and we would happily have them for sitters again."

"Perfect house sitters!

 

John and Barbara Verba sat for us, initially for 2 weeks, but generously agreed to change their plans and stay for a further week when a situation required us to stay in the UK.

 

From the first meeting we were happy and confident that they would take care of our 2 little cats and ancient house, with all the challenges of living in very rural France. Our confidence was not misplaced as they soon became firm friends with our rather timid cats, who thrived whilst we were away, and the house and garden were immaculate when we returned.

 

We always say that house sitters only have to do the job, they do not have to be your friends…however on this occasion we actually wanted to spend more time with them as they felt like friends from the start.

"Barb and John were an absolute delight to meet you. I can't say enough good things about this lovely couple. They were really reliable and organized. They sent me daily updates on my cute little monster and were fun to talk to. Even my neighbor commented on how sweet they were.They were super clean.
